The agency that released this information clarifies that between January and May 2019, the Philippines managed to import about seven hundred and forty-one thousand tons of grain, which is more than twenty-five percent, higher than the same indicators a year ago.

It is known that in the first five months of 2018, about five hundred ninety-one thousand tons of grain were imported. It will not be superfluous to note that in the last decade, Philippine purchasers have significantly increased the volume of wheat imports - more than doubled.

It is noteworthy that the main exporter of wheat to the Philippine market is the United States of America. It is known that ninety-five percent of all imported wheat in the Philippines is produced by American farmers.
