Analysts at the Russian import market estimated that between January and March of this year, a country like Azerbaijan sold at least twenty-one thousand tons of tomatoes in the Russian Federation.
It is noteworthy that this indicator is almost eight percent higher than the volume of purchases of tomatoes that was delivered from Azerbaijan to the Russian Federation for the same period of the previous year, 2018.
It will not be out of place to note that from the first days of this year and until the end of March, Azerbaijan was able to gain about twenty-five and a half million dollars for the export of tomatoes, of which Russia paid a little more than 25.1 million (about 99.7% accounted for Russian purchasers all tomatoes exported from Azerbaijan).
It is also important to add that in 2018, Azerbaijani suppliers shipped one hundred seventy-two thousand tons of tomatoes to the foreign market. Of these, Russian buyers purchased one hundred and seventy thousand tons.
It should be noted that Azerbaijani tomatoes are in unusually high demand among Russian consumers, who note the high quality and excellent taste of imported tomatoes, which are practically not inferior to anything in the domestic product.
