The goods from warm regions are not in great demand. It looks like ordinary Ukrainian potato harvest last year. Buyers see this as a catch and are in no hurry to give money for supposedly “old” potatoes. This significantly reduces sales. To explain the high price of potatoes that do not look young is very difficult.
Every year, potatoes are delivered from Egypt to Ukraine. This happens in March-April, when the local root crop is already losing its commercial qualities. The volume of these deliveries is small - only 1% of all root crop sales in Ukraine, which amount to 2.5 million tons. In numerical terms, this will be from 100 tons to 2.2 thousand tons per year.
The country purchases a small amount of potatoes from Azerbaijan, Israel, Belarus, Poland, and the Netherlands. In this situation, Egypt is the largest exporter of potatoes to Ukraine.
