The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine agreed on the terms of cooperation with the European Investment Bank, which provides for financing of the agro-industrial complex in the amount of 800 million euros.
The EIB will finance Ukrainian farmers by paying 400 million euros of loan funds. Co-financing in the form of loans from other banks or own funds of enterprises will also be available, the press service of the Ministry of Finance reports.
Small and medium-sized agricultural companies of the country will be able to use the money.
In particular, a loan can be obtained for the production of oilseeds, the renewal of grain storage capacities, as well as for experimental stations, research and testing laboratories, equipment for research and training in professions, agricultural extension and certification services, and control and monitoring systems fisheries.
The Ministry of Finance hopes that the resources raised will have a positive impact on the business climate in Ukraine and become prerequisites for attracting investment. With the help of loans, farmers will be able to increase production capacities and open new jobs.
Loans will be provided for up to 10 years.
