In January-February of this year, the United States significantly increased the amount of honey imported from Ukraine, finding itself in the leading position in its procurement.

For the first two months of 2019, the United States purchased $ 1.96 million of Ukrainian honey, which is 2 times more than in the same period in 2018, the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine said. The United States was in fifth position in the ranking of importers with an indicator of $ 0.96 million.

The largest importers of Ukrainian honey are Germany and Belgium. Official figures say that they have already bought Ukraine’s sweet product for $ 3.68 million and $ 1.99 million, respectively. For the analyzed period, Ukrainian beekeepers shipped their product on the foreign market in the amount of $ 12.9 million, which is 7% less than in January -February 2018 In physical terms, honey exports, on the contrary, increased slightly. For comparison, if last year exports for the first two months amounted to 6.1 thousand tons, then this year this figure increased to 6.9 thousand tons.

Earlier it was reported that beekeepers of the Kherson region see the stability of demand for Ukrainian honey abroad in the use of brands. They complain that export firms do not advertise a Ukrainian product that is sold worldwide.
