Environmentalists and farmers adopt Australian technology. The most expensive mushroom in the world can take root in Ukraine.
In general, truffle grows in the Carpathians, as well as in the Vinnitsa and Kiev regions. Lviv environmentalists want to help farmers renew the tradition of truffle cultivation. About 50 farms are already participating in the experiment.
As often happens in the working days of scientists, the idea came about by chance.
Ecologists did not plan to grow truffles, but conducted experiments with mycorrhiza. Mycorrhiza literally from Greek - "fungus root". This is a symbiosis of mycelium with the roots of higher plants. In this case, with the roots of the trees. But for some trees, this symbiosis with mushrooms is beneficial, while for others it is harmful. Mycorrhiza is planted on the roots of garden trees, berry bushes, such as raspberries or blueberries. Ecologists have studied how mycorrhiza will affect the well-being of hazel. As it turned out, it’s perfectly fine - hazelnut as quickly as possible quickly fished for a whole meter. Environmentalists used mycelium oily and noticed that the trees planted with mycorrhiza grew mushrooms. But what if truffles are involved in the experiment, environmentalists thought?

The results of the experiment will be known in 3 years. 40 kilograms of truffle per hectare are expected. This is a little, but good to start. Environmentalists have created mycorrhiza based on the mycelium of white and black truffles. They really hope for the yield of white, because it is more expensive. A kilogram of black truffle costs 1200-1500 euros (black market prices), and white - from 4000 euros. All this time, farmers will have to monitor the safety of truffles - do not dig up the ground and do not use chemical fertilizers. This is an Australian truffle cultivation technology, thanks to which mushrooms have been mutilated even in hot Tanzania. So the experiment of Ukrainian ecologists has every chance of success.
