High product prices continue to hold, producers are pleased with the profit, EastFruit analysts said.

This situation favored an increase in sown areas for vegetables. Growing vegetables are even interested in entrepreneurs who have not previously considered this industry. To date, the increased excitement has led to the fact that it is almost impossible to buy seeds of vegetables of foreign selection.

Large areas of vegetable growers were allocated for the cultivation of carrots. They themselves say that the cost of 1 kg of carrots is 1-1.5 hryvnia. Products are sold at a price of 6-7 UAH.

Carrots, which are located in the vegetable store, are not yet a commodity, they are raw materials. To turn it into a product, you need to deliver to the consumer in a salable condition. And these are additional costs for washing, cleaning, packaging and transportation. Today, carrots are sold unwashed at retail outlets in the country. If the package is there, then it is the most unpretentious.

Ukrainian farmers could export their carrots to the countries of the European Union and the Middle East, but for this it is necessary to increase its quality and work on the presentation, said the representative of the UN (FAO), Andrei Yarmak.
