The Scandinavian style in landscape design is now in trend, it is interesting for a domestic summer resident because it cannot stand pomposity and does not require expensive investments. Its main features are minimalism, simplicity in design and conciseness. In order to bring northern motives to the elements of your summer cottage, you should have elementary ecological literacy and present before your mind the landscape typical of Scandinavia.

Style features

The main features of this style should be called:

• coherence of all elements;
• naturalness;
• moderation in everything;
• simplicity.

When creating a rockery, you should remember that this is the most important element of Scandinavian design. Stones do not just have to be arranged in a chaotic manner. Cobblestones and boulders should be arranged as if they had been displaced by natural forces during melting glacier or other cataclysm. Garden furniture

Between stone boulders you can plant hygrophilous semi-wild flowers. But you should not overdo it with landscaping, plants on the shore of a pond must look harmonious.
