These grandmothers are very fond of pampering their beloved grandchildren with European grandmothers. And those who were lucky enough to try this fragrant pastry, literally unanimously repeat - it is hardly possible to find a more ideal pair for a leisurely tea party while watching your favorite movie or a good old comedy.
You can prepare these shortcakes for the arrival of sudden guests who report that they are approaching your doorstep. Or bake gingerbread cookies and go on a visit to your best friends - they will surely be happy for both you and your ginger “surprise” and immediately go to put on a kettle.
Baking a carrot is so easy that even a child can handle it!
But let's move on from words to deeds - fragrant shortcakes will not bake themselves!
You will need:
- 175 g of good quality butter;
- 200 g of flour;
- 2 chicken eggs;
- 150 ml of milk;
- 100 g of powdered sugar;
- 150 g of brown sugar;
- 3 tbsp honey;
- 10 g of peeled fresh ginger root;
- 2 tsp ginger powder;
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp lemon juice;
- a pinch of baking soda.
Pour milk into a stewpan or pan with a thick bottom, pour both types of sugar into it, add honey and butter, which for convenience can be cut into cubes. We warm all this over minimal heat until completely dissolved, mix until smooth.
We rub the ginger root on a fine grater, mix with slightly beaten eggs, add sifted flour and soda to this mixture, powder spices and knead well. Fill with butter-milk mixture and knead again until smooth.
We send the dough into the mold and bake in a preheated oven for 40 minutes at 150 degrees Celsius.
Stop for a moment in a daily rush, make tea and cut off a slice of ginger cake - this is it, the happiness of everyday life!
Readiness can be checked with a toothpick - when the baking is well baked, the toothpick will come out of the dough dry. You can pour the prepared cake with icing from honey, lemon juice and icing sugar, as well as decorate with candied fruit or berries.
Serve by slicing the gingerbread.
