Andrei Razin, head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food in the Moscow Region, is convinced that the price of strawberries in the region entrusted to him is fully consistent with the pricing realities of modern Russia.

So, a kilogram of strawberries costs at least two hundred and fifty rubles to consumers in the capital region. The maximum price limit is three hundred rubles per kilogram package. However, experts add that the cost of garden strawberries may well be higher.

And here it should be noted that several factors affect the formation of strawberry prices at once. For example, it is important how well the berry harvest is carried out.

It is important to understand whether the berries were refrigerated, packed, or poured into boxes immediately after harvesting, Iryna Koziy, who heads the Berry Union of the Russian Federation, is convinced.

Also, according to the expert, locally produced strawberries may well cost the consumer more than imported berries from other regions.

“The fact is that local berries stay fresh longer and retain their beneficial properties, because they did not have to travel a long way from the garden to the counter. Imported berries cannot always boast of this.

Therefore, the price for them is sometimes significantly lower than the strawberries that were grown directly in the region where it is sold, ”said Irina Koziy. The specialist also added that the demand for local strawberries is always higher.
