1/3 of all intensive-type gardens that appear in Russia every year are located on the territory of Kabardino-Balkaria (CBD). ha., the regional ministry of agriculture shares information.
Kabardino-Balkaria has been developing this type of gardening since 2008. During the first half of this year, 1280 hectares appeared on its territory. new gardens with an expected quantity of 1150 ha. in the framework of the republican state program. This is 27.7% of the total indicator in the country, ministry officials said.
Specialists of the ministry said that the nature and climate of the CBD are favorable for laying intensive-type gardens and make it possible to obtain high-quality fruits.
This has become clear from the experience of gardening in recent years. As of January 1, 2019, perennial plantations on the territory of the CBD occupy an area of 19 thousand 118 hectares, of which 10 thousand 839 hectares under intensive type gardens.
In 2018, the gross harvest of fruits and berries was 257.2 thousand tons, which is 20% more compared to 2017. The ministry noted that the KBR has its own base for the development of gardening.
With intensive gardening, 800-1000 trees are planted on one hectare of land, and fruiting occurs for 2 years.
