Last year, a record crop was obtained - more than 1 million. This year, unfortunately, the daily rains that took place in May affected the starch content of the tubers.

This negatively affected the potato yield. This year, Carpathian farmers expect to receive a gross harvest of about 800 thousand tons of potatoes.

This will be enough to ensure the food security of the region with potatoes, said Ivan Andriyishin, director of the department of agricultural development of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional state administration.

To determine the price of potatoes in the market this fall, while the department is not taken. They say that demand determines it.

For information, current prices for potatoes are record high due to crop failure in Ukraine. According to experts, they are the highest not only in Europe, but also in Eurasia.

At the same time, now you can buy potatoes in Russia 2.5 times cheaper, and in Belarus - 2 times cheaper. Such a difference in prices provokes an increase in imports, which is increasing every day.
